About Paediatric Speech Pathology
Paediatric Services are provided across various sites, including Monash Community and Monash Children’s Hospital.
This two year rotational Grade 1 position consists of 2 rotations, each of 12 months duration. It will commence in the Acute/Rehabilitation service and rotate to Monash Health Community. There may be opportunity to experience other rotations.
Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service: In VPRS at Monash Children’s Hospital speech pathologists see a combination of inpatient and ambulatory clients who require time limited goal focused interdisciplinary rehabilitation. As a state-wide service there may also be travel to other VPRS sites.
Acute Paediatrics: At the Monash Children’s Hospital you will work across inpatients and outpatients, in the areas of communication and of infant feeding.
Monash Health Community: In the School Readiness Program you will work with kindergartens in the region to prepare children for school. You will collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance speech and language skills in preparation for transition to school.
In the Child and Family Team you will provide a Speech Pathology service to children aged 0- 18 years and their families residing in the City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia. This position works in an outreach model of care as well as at the community health centre and will see children and infants with mild to moderate developmental delay, speech and language needs and provide services to the infant feeding clinic.
A Bit About this Role
As a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist at Monash Health you will collaborate with colleagues across the service to foster clinical excellence and consistency of practice. You will provide assessment and management of infants and children within community and centre based settings in the areas of communication and swallowing/feeding.
What we’re looking for in you:
- A relevant speech pathology qualification
- Minimum 12 months experience in clinical speech pathology (this is not a new graduate position)
- Demonstrated commitment to furthering paediatric skills and knowledge

This role is classified as a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist and is paid according to award rates with post graduate qualification allowance as applicable. It is a temporary role
Salary packaging and staff parking are available.
This position will be required to travel as it will be located at Monash Children’s Hospital for the acute and rehabilitation rotation and in the South Eastern suburbs including Cranbourne, Pakenham and Springvale for the Community Health rotation
