About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About Department
The Physiotherapy Deaprtment includes physiotherapists, exercise physiologisits and a team of allied health assistants. We work within the acute setting of the hospital at Sale and provide an extensive range of community and outpatients seerivces ranging from 1:1 therapy to rehabilitations groups.
About the Role
The vacent role if for a full time permanent Allied Health Assistant within the Physiotherpay Deaprtment. Allied Health Assistiants within the deaprtment work alongside the physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. The provide valuable client contact as well as assisiting with administration tasks. The allied health assistants work on a rotational basis through the acute and community settings. You will be upskilled to provide independent group programs, hydrotherapy and women's health education. Allied Health Assisitants are required to work alongsode a physiotherapist for 2 hours on a Saturday and Sunday to dliever post operative rehabilitation to our orthopaedic clients on a rotational basis (1 in 6/8 weekends).
Duties
- Assisting therapists with rehabilitation and post orthopaedic clients
- Providing one on one exercise programs
- Assisting therapists with group delivery
- Providing education to Women's Health Clients
- Assisiting with administration tasks within the department
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant
