Nurse Manager Residential In Reach

The South East Public Health Unit COVID 19 is a newly established unit working to prevent and respond to the spread of COVID-19 in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne. In the future, the unit will likely play a pivotal role in the broader aspects of public health. We will operate across the south-east of Melbourne.

As we build an inclusive unit that embraces diversity and difference, we are looking for enthusiastic healthcare professional who would like to join our multidisciplinary team as the Residential In Reach Nurse Manager.

About our Residential In Reach at Monash Health

Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.

Residential In Reach (RIR) services provide an alternative treatment option for patients living in Residential Care Facilities (RCF), to prevent avoidable Emergency Department (ED) presentations where appropriate and safe.

A collaborative approach to clinical support, assessment and direct treatment of residential clients with the medical and nursing team is required.

The Residential In Reach team will support 120 aged residential facilities and 150+ disability facilities in our catchment.

About The Role

Residential in Reach (RIR) is growing with the development of the South Eastern Public Health Unit and we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse Leader to join the RIR team. This managerial and clinical role will facilitate excellence in care by working with the Team to support the residents and staff within the Aged and Disability Care Facilities who we support.

About You

You are a dynamic, experienced Nurse Leader. You are experienced in acute and aged care environments, and have an interest or experience in disability care environments.

You are highly organized and have well developed analytical skills. Expected to be enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.

You are also:

  • able to work both autonomously and provide direction through critical thinking and decision making
  • An excellent communicator
  • You support your team being flexible and dynamic and you are a creative problem solver
  • An advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.

What You Need

  • Minimum 5 year post graduate year experience in acute nursing with current continuum of practice essential
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Nurse Manager, Associate Nurse Manager or Team Leader
  • Current Victorian drivers licence essential
  • Understanding of residential care services an advantage
