Job Description:Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2017Department Name: Gorman Unit Position Summary:A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team, experience in nursing within the drug and alcohol setting is valued but not essential. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to work in our Acute Detoxication Unit to provide patient-centred care to clients accessing our service with substance use issues. We are committed to providing care to disenfranchised members of our community who present from a range of diverse backgrounds requiring support with individualised psychosocial needs.The Gorman Unit is a medically supervised alcohol and drug short stay unit that provides inpatient withdrawal management including specialist care involving managing withdrawal symptoms, psychosocial support by our multidisciplinary team and post-discharge planning. The candidate must be able to work effectively within this multidisciplinary team to provide safe, quality care to our clients.This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian.
