About the Role

The Practice and Programs Specialist (PPS) role is part of the National Aged Care team. The Programs Specialist with Aged Care expertise will work in partnership with operations to support our teams nationally to improve client outcomes by implementing organisational program initiatives and providing practice support and advice.

You will focus on projects around practice development areas, models and implementation. You will provide active support around Age Care initiatives such as increasing awareness and compliance to the National Aged Care Quality Standards, compliance with LWB policies and procedures and assist in building a positive culture through the delivery of a National Communities of Practices.

This position is being offered on a full-time contract period of 12 months. This role can be located at either Newcastle, Sydney Brisbane or Melbourne locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with service delivery teams to implement and promote best practice in service delivery.
  • Implement organisational program related initiatives within the area.
  • Provide input into the development of new programs and practice initiatives and translate these into practice.
  • In partnership with Management, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, service standards and LWB policy and procedures, within the area.
  • Provide advice and practical assistance to Managers and team members on the application and implementation of legislation and standards.
  • Provide training, on-the-job coaching and mentoring to staff, to assist with skills development.
  • Report risks, poor practice and noncompliance with LWB policy and procedure and legislation.
  • Work cooperatively with other Practice and Programs Specialists to share resources and facilitate consistency of practice nationally.
  • Support service user participation and engagement with evaluation, design and delivery of LWB services in line with our client engagement and participation framework.
  • Implement area strategies to achieve accreditation and licensing requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Services or Social Sciences.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of client support services.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership within own area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems to improve services.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advice, support, coaching, mentoring and training to managers and staff.
  • High level ability to develop relationships and partnerships with managers and employees.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel nationally to ensure equitable support of Operational teams.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
