You will work seamlessly in managing critical functions within payroll, whilst coaching and developing a customer-oriented team. The Role…

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Recommending and Implementing best practices for current payroll systems and processes as well as being instrumental in moving to the next payroll and HR systems
  • Managing and overseeing the entire payroll for over 1100 staff and growing
  • Assisting with month and year end requirements ensuring suitable workpapers are compiled for the annual audit
  • Preparing and providing WorkCover submission and adjustments
  • Reviewing payroll payments including PAYG and Super guarantee
  • Providing regular reporting to management that drives decisions and behaviours
  • Monitoring and maintaining compliance with internal controls in-line with statutory requirements
  • Providing leadership and management to a small payroll team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and provide effective service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer

About You…

To be successful in the role you will ideally possess qualifications in Payroll with demonstrated experience managing a large and complex end-to-end payroll function. You will be a natural leader and strategically focussed with outstanding attention to detail. You will be a highly driven and analytical individual who has an advanced technical understanding of multiple Awards and EBA’s and Salary Sacrificing components within a Not-For-Profit context. Exposure to TechOne and PayGlobal would be highly advantageous.

You will have strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to build collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have prior experience in successfully leading payroll transformation projects and implementing process improvements in consultation with senior management. Your ability to mobilise resources, deal with complexities and work seamlessly between client engagement, staff support and administrative requirements will be key to your success.
