Opportunity and Context
Quantitative Data Research Officer required to join the evolving Research Branch of a federal agency responsible for implementing Australia's largest social reform since Medicare.
Initial contract term approved to the March 2022 with extensions beyond highly likely.
Full time or 4 days per week part-time possible. The team is based in Melbourne CBD, however remote working from interstate or regional Victoria is possible. The Evaluation Service and Research Service teams have been set up to provide this Agency's leadership team with decision making support and research.
You'll be working in a small team of 3-4 supporting the Assistant Director and Director to deliver mulitple mixed method evaluaiton projects.
The Role
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis (predominantly quantitative and data)
- Data analysis and modelling using SAS (HIGHLY regarded), Stata, Nvivio, SPSS
- Work alongside Project Lead and Director to provide supportive data analysis to formulate evaluation framworks and plans
- Work on 1-2 + mixed methods research evaluation projects at a time
Selection Criteria (one or more)
- Relevant Bachelor's degree or higher with hands-on research or evaluation experience (eg a research thesis, publications)
- Strong Data analysis - solid SAS, Nvivo or Stata - mandatory
- Demonstrated experience collecting, managing and analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data (eg surveys, focus groups, user testing, data collection)
- Demonstrated awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling
- Any experience with quantitative data research within government policy, healthcare, aged care, and/or disability services would be highly regarded but NOT mandatory - successful candidates can apply their data and research skills to a number of areas
