Your new role
Reporting to the CEO, the Executive General Manager (EGM) People and Culture will lead a team to deliver on the organisational strategy and bed down best practice HR processes as the foundations for culture change and future growth. The role is a pivotal executive leadership role that will identify and implement strategic initiatives to further develop the organisation and its culture, as an 'employer of choice'. This role will be accountable for implementing a business partnering model, an overall customer service philosophy and designing organisational development initiatives to improve organisational capability, as well as to attract and retain skilled and engaged people who will allow the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives. Duties include:

  • Lead and coordinate overall strategic direction for People and Culture Services in accordance with the Purpose, Strategy and Values of RSL Lifecare
  • Formulate and develop plans, management philosophy and operational policies and procedures for the overall management of RSL Lifecare.
  • Function as a key strategic adviser at corporate level in relation to HR matters.
  • Actively participate in the planning associated with service / facility improvements and new service / facility development.
  • In conjunction with the CEO effectively manage strategic workforce planning
  • Develop and implement initiatives to gain maximum employee engagement
  • Lead negotiations on workplace agreements and industrial relation requirements
  • Develop effective talent, workforce and succession plans
  • Oversee the implementation of the new HRIS system Workday
  • Prepare budgets in conjunction with CFO and HR staff. Monitor expenditure to budget and take corrective action as required.
  • Understand and comply with all WH&S legislation and risk management frameworks


What you'll need to succeed
Proven management acumen and a high level understanding of contemporary approaches to HR management and business partnering. A relevant degree or post graduate degree, or equivalent experience. Proven change management experience and capacity to drive major change programs. Aged care experience is desirable but not essential.
