JOB DESCRIPTION

Your role is to sell the FoodByUs offering into restaurants and other foodservice Buyers - ultimately building a very strong territory to manage. You'll meet with venues, explain what the FoodByUs 'one-stop-shop' online marketplace is, and will guide our buyers to purchase their wholesale food from our suppliers.

This role is an exciting blend of new business development (sales) and account management. If you really love people, really love food, work hard and are super organised then we want to talk to you.

Although you need to be extremely independent for this role, you’ll also be supported working with a talented and highly collaborative team of 30 people. One thing we can guarantee is that you will learn a lot working with us.

Your Responsibilities

Your role is to form relationships with restaurants and other foodservice businesses so that you can sell our marketplace solution. You will intimately know our Suppliers and Buyers, helping to facilitate sales between them. The role responsibilities are

  • Sales to restaurants, RSL's etc You’ll meet with restaurants and other potential customers of FoodByUs. You’ll gather their needs and will suggest relevant FoodByUs Suppliers, conduct price comparisons and ultimately help the venue complete their first order through our website
  • Own your geographic area You will totally own your geographic area (e.g 'Western Sydney') - you control which restaurants and other busineses you speak to, when, and how you choose to generate business for FoodByUs
  • Solution seller We are a digital procurement solution for restaurants - you're not 'selling food', you're solving a business's problems
  • Creativity we will work with you to brainstorm new and creative ways to sell to all sorts of venues (schools, aged care, hospitality groups and more), and we want you to bring your own ideas to the table


Requirements

Experience selling food and/or a solution into restaurants is preferred, but not required. Ultimately you need to be strategic and motivated get to know our buyers and help with their purchasing requirements + overall business.

To succeed in this role (and more importantly to enjoy it!) you’ll need the following attributes
  • Love people you’ll spend every single day meeting with and talking to people – suppliers, buyers and more. So you’ll need to be friendly, courteous and passionate about working with others
  • You are strategic Your role is to help our restaurants buy food supplies in one place – so you need to understand their whole of business needs and sell accordingly
  • Accountability We’re a small team in a dynamic start-up, so you’ll need to completely own your tasks. We don’t use buzz words like ‘get your hands dirty’ and ‘motivated self-starter’ – the reality is you’ll be thrown into everything from day one and you need to get tasks done
  • Passion You absolutely need to be passionate about food, our community and about start-ups in general – we live and breathe FoodByUs every day and to succeed here you’ll need you to heart it as much as we do
  • Organised You need to be very organised because you’ll be managing a large community of buyers linking into many suppliers. You are used to keeping lists and ticking things off, you hate leaving tasks half-finished, you are probably a little obssesive about how you manage your inbox
  • Communication You must be a friendly, clear and open communicator. This role is all about dealing with people so you need strong written and verbal communication
  • Team player We are a friendly and hard-working bunch – it’s really important you’re a naturally interpersonal and team-focused person. We all rely on each other every day
  • The right experience We’d like to see you’ve done sales and customer service before. Also, not at a giant company but rather at a small-medium one where you owned all the pieces.
