About the Department
6 West is a 20 bed unit compromising of acute Haematology and Oncology beds. 6 West operates as part of a dynamic and supportive team that upholds strong values of providing high quality care to our patients and excellent communication between all health professionals from all disciplines.

About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 2 Registered Nurses to join the team on a permanent or fixed term basis. As a Grade 2 Registered Nurse you will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care whilst working in a team dedicated to continuous quality improvement.

Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP11 ($65,276 - $87,282 base salary per annum).


Document, observe and report relevant nursing findings about patients’ status’ and progress

Liaise with patients, patient’s family, medical and ancillary staff as required

Act as a role model and provide support to junior staff in all clinical aspects

Complete Handover in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures

Actively participate and contribute to all departmental quality improvements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA

Current experience in Haematology/Oncology nursing is desirable

Exceptional interpersonal skills with patients and staff at all levels

Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

Demonstrated time management with the ability to prioritise activities
