JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential key selection criteria: Relevant tertiary level qualification in health and safety or risk management. Knowledge and understanding of the current health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, compliance codes and other guidelines in the aged and disability context. Proficiency in software programs and suite of Microsoft Office. Demonstrated experience in providing support, guidance and authoritative advice on health and safety issues within a dedicated health and safety role. Demonstrated ability to interpret and practically apply workplace health and safety legislation and compliance codes. Effective interpersonal communication and proven ability to engage and build positive relationships and work collaboratively within a team. Desirable: Experience in policy development. Understanding of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. Understanding of infection control practices is highly desirable - such as qualification as a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional. Experience in health care, aged care or disability services.
