Your organisation:
This well established Federal Government department in Canberra is looking for multiple APS4/5/6/EL1 Policy Officers to join their team on a 6 month contract with a possibility of extension for the right candidates.
Your responsibilities:
Assisting in the development, drafting and review of policy documents, briefs, correspondence, meeting papers and Budget process documents related to the new in-home aged care system.
Assisting in the scoping, procurement, contract management and implementing the outcomes of research to inform the design of the new in-home aged care system.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in relation to policy development, including contributing to consultation documentation.
Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders and delivery partners to contribute to the planning of new policy implementation and transition arrangements.
Contributing to the project management and administrative activities of the section.
To be successful:
Ability to quickly gain an understanding of current and emerging areas of aged care programs and policy.
Ability to use and synthesise information from diverse sources in the development of evidence-based policy advice.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, experience in preparing a range of written materials and tailoring messages and style to different audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and achieve results to meet program objectives within tight timeframes.
Experience with or the ability to quickly learn key government processes such as procurement, PDMS, Budget processes, etc.
Experience with or the ability to quickly learn project planning practices and maintenance of key project documentation.
