We now have an opportunity available for an experienced Chef to oversee the weekend operations of the kitchen at our Juniper Ella Williams aged care home, located in Noranda, WA.The purpose of this role is to prepare high quality, nutritious meals to meet our residents’ special dietary requirements. You will be responsible for supervising a small team of catering staff and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to. You will also make sure that the quality of meals is maintained at a high standard and that a safe food service is provided. To join our team you will need to be keen to contribute to a positive, welcoming environment that enhances the lives of others.This is a part-time position of 15 hours per week. The successful applicant must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays, 9am-5pm.Key Responsibilities of this role:. Preparing and cooking high quality, nourishing meals for our residentsMonitoring all practices within the catering centre to ensure safe food handling and infection control procedures are being adhered toEnsure all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standardsStock control management, replenishing and ordering stock as requiredCompliancy with Juniper’s Occupational, Safety and Health requirements The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required: Trade certification or experience in a commercial cooking environment and/or aged care catering is requiredBasic knowledge of dietary nutrition for the aged is preferredAbility to manage bulk ordering, purchasing, and stock control of foodCompetent in using Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication skills, written and verbal and interpersonal skillsEmpathy for elderly residents
