Internal Quality Assessor

Location: Brisbane

Term: Full time

About the Role

The Internal Quality Assessor is a critical support role; working across the Australia and New Zealand Health Services business to ensure Bupa’s key compliance risks and requirements are being managed by the business.

A key requirement is the ability to build a strong and trusting rapport with colleagues in the Risk and Compliance team as well as risk business contacts. You will need to be able to work independently to manage the internal audit program for your homes.

The role will support a region within the company, Management of those homes and the wider Risk and Compliance group


Quality Assessment across the Aged Care Homes

  • Conduct a program of audits to ensure all aspects of service delivery meet the relevant standards
  • Using information from the audits and other information identify and report and areas of risk.
  • Clearly express supporting evidence in writing
  • Present ideas effectively in individual and group settings
  • Work to agreed priorities, outcomes and time constraints to achieve these goals.
  • Clear and precise action plans

Integration of services across the Aged Care Platforms

  • Assist the homes to deliver on items on their improvement plan and actions raised following the audits in collaboration with local staff
  • Promote consistency of practice across the platform
  • Identify opportunities of best practice and share this information to the wider group
  • Keep abreast of the current developments in the ever-changing face of aged care.


  • Effectively lead, plan and organise the assessment process in your region
  • Provide and receive feedback, present ideas effectively
  • Adapt to varying work situations and be flexible in approach to challenging situations
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviours to coach and mentor staff in providing quality care

Ability to build effective relationships

  • Motivate team members and create a positive team environment
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Academic Professional Qualifications

  • Registered or Enrolled nurse preferred but not essential.
  • Allied Health Professional preferred but not essential
  • Aged Care Quality Assessment experience

Ideal experience & delivered performance

  • Aged Care experience essential
  • Relevant knowledge of the Aged care Standards
  • The ability to be flexible as travel forms part of this role
  • Previous auditing experience
