An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Project Manager – Strategy & Conversion. This is a newly formed role, which will focus on client management, project strategy and bid leadership to help support the conversion of a high-profile pipeline of opportunity.

The role sits in the Fitout & Refurbishment business unit of one of Australia’s leading builders. Reporting to a Construction Director, we are looking for an experienced customer-focused Project Manager with strong project delivery track record, commercial experience, and a great eye for design.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Working with leadership and bid management team to bid and convert projects
  • Leading weekly project strategy and conversion meetings
  • Complete detailed review of tender documentation and establish strategy document with bid leader for tender process
  • Working in partnership the bid team to develop programming and construction methodologies
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Estimating and Legal team to ensure alignment with tender deliverables
  • Eventual progression through to Project Director or senior leadership role

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a relevant degree and proven management experience in the construction industry
  • Have extensive experience with the delivery of fitout and refurbishment projects
  • Have sound construction technical knowledge including programming, construction methodology and buildability experience
  • Provide commercial knowledge, understand project pricing, completing trade analysis, coordinating with estimating and obtaining the best pricing from the market by thinking smarter
  • Has strong technical writing skills for the submission component of a tender
  • Experience with completing tender presentations
