JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for a skilled licensed builder who wants to get off the tools but would still like to be involved in the project management of major renovations.

Candidates meeting the criteria will hold a building licence, have managed projects in the past including organising sub-contractors from all different trades. This role is will encompass all duties within project management.

Operational management

  • Mange the entire workflow process including scoping the job, preparing quotes and supervising all aspects of the work.
  • Ensure appropriate supervision is in place making sure all sub-contractors deliver to a high standard of quality control and as per agreed time frames.
  • Implement processes to monitor that all contractual requirements are met by staff and contractors and that the process remains cost effective.
  • Ensure site inspections take place meeting client expectations.
  • Liaise with clients and sub-contractors to arrange access, modifications, allocation of work, schedule and monitor all works and follow up with the Building Services Manager.
  • Ensure that the performance of contractors complies with contractual arrangements, that non-conformances are identified and addressed and that the process remains cost effective, efficient and safe.
  • Ensure work health and safety standards are complied with, monitoring and reporting risks as they occur.
  • Ensure the health and safety of self and others in the workplace.

Financial management

  • Prepare quotes for jobs in conjunction with the Financial Controller, ensuring a high acceptance rate.
  • Maximise the profitability of jobs, particularly in regards to increasing margin
  • Respond to all incoming new projects and account enquiries within 24 hours.
  • Ensure all invoicing, accounts payable and receivable are reported to the Financial Controller
  • Maintain records of accounts and client details

Paramount to our client is that they continue to develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with clients, service providers, contractors, and volunteers within the community. 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential

  • A Service NSW Builders License.
  • Agree to be the licensee for our client organisation as a building services provider.
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing building projects; ideally in a health or community care setting.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Current C class driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated competency in all Microsoft Office suite 

Desirable

  • Experience in working in the aged care or disability sector.
  • Knowledge of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP) funding schemes.
  • Knowledge and experience with Project Management software and solutions within the Building and Construction Industry.
