We’re seeking applications from experienced Hospitality Workers to join our facility team at Tallebudgera Talleyhaven Aged Care Facility

This is a great opportunity for Hospitality Workers(food and beverage attendants/ waitresses & waiters / hospitality all-rounders)aiming to restore their work life balance and gain employment in one of Australia’s fastest growing industries.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing of our clients through providing safe and efficient food and beverage service and maintaining impeccable hygiene standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
  • All Blue Care staff must satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies.

Desirable:
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in hospitality services preferably in aged care or disability, or willingness to learn.
  • Relevant vaccinations in line with Blue Care staff vaccination policy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities/accountabilities of the position include some or all of the following:
  • Ensure cleanliness of the facility and any other equipment or furniture is maintained to a high standard at all times.
  • Assist with the provision of the food service to meet the residents’ food requirements in relation to hygiene, food storage, food distribution and serving of meals in accordance with the Food Safety Manual and food handling training.
  • Ensure that quantity and quality of food is stored, distributed and served as in accordance with resident menus, resident requests and duties lists.
  • Prepare dining rooms before and after meals.
  • Provide effective laundry services for residents according to infection control and other relevant standards.
  • Ensure prompt processing of soiled linen.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained and notify supervisor to replace and reorder stock when required.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored and used according to organisational guidelines.
  • Report any defects in equipment or other hazards.
  • Undertake other duties as required/directed as service needs change or grow, (consistent with the above, within the scope of the position and any applicable Duties List and any other legal or industrial obligations).

Supporting our clients in the best way possible is important to us. To be employed by Blue Care, you will be required to complete the free NDIS Worker Orientation Module prior to commencement and provide a copy of your certificate on completion.

Recently, Queensland Health advised that employees working in a residential aged care facility are no longer required to have an influenza vaccination. Whilst the influenza vaccination is currently not a requirement, it is highly likely the vaccination will be a seasonal requirement moving into future years. We strongly encourage all employees across Aged Care and Community Services to obtain the seasonal influenza vaccination to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the vulnerable people in our care as well as their own.


Selection Criteria
Essential: Do you have knowledge and/or experience in hospitality services, preferably in aged care or disability?
Essential: Are you comfortable and willing to work in all areas of hospitality services? i.e. Kitchen, Housekeeping etc.
Desirable: Do you have Cert III in Hospitality Services or a relevant qualification?
Desirable: Are you available to be rostered for shifts between 6am and 7pm Monday - Sunday?
