ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the Day Of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) and Medical Day Stay (MDS) Unit at the Werribee Mercy Hospital. We seek an individual for the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role with a strong focus on leading current and future developments within our unit.

  • We are a dynamic and cohesive team that supports innovation and professional development
  • Permanent position, 0.8 EFT part time
  • Rotating roster between DOSA and MDS. Our unit operates Monday to Friday – no public holidays
  • Coordinate and manage the day to day operation of the DOSA/MDS unit
  • Join our diverse and exciting team that is committed to providing patients with high quality person-centred nursing care to persons from all walks of life
  • Role model behaviours and practice within the core values of Mercy Health
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally with other departments and with external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of high standard patient care
  • Be part of a multidisciplinary team

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and willing to embrace change
  • Demonstrated previous experience in leadership and staff management or ANUM role
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse multidisciplinary team approach
  • Extensive experience in general surgical nursing
  • Recent Day surgical experience
  • Qualifications in administration of chemotherapy desired
  • Demonstrated skills in time management, prioritization and critical thinking
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Demonstrated assessment skills, flexibility, adaptability to change and prioritization skills

Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care.
