About Us:

St Louis is a private non-denominational organisation that has been providing aged care services to the community since 1946.

The St Louis Home Care team is a professional, passionate and dedicated group focused on providing the highest possible standard of in-home care for our clients. We work in cooperation with clients and their families to provide individualised care services in clients own homes as well as in group settings as part of a monthly program..

About the Role:

The successful applicant will work as part of close knit team to develop innovative activity programs for clients using the Consumer Directed Care model to maintain healthy relationships within the community. You will need to liaise with other health professionals and organisations to ensure a vast range of activities can be offered. You will also be responsible for supervision of care staff whilst participating in activities.

About You:

You will have a genuine commitment to the elderly and value their role in society. As a focused, highly organised and self motivated Leisure & Lifestyle Officer, you will be required to plan, develop and deliver an innovative activities program for our clients. As a person who can build and maintain relationships you will be required to oversee and evaluate the program whilst promoting and advocating St Louis Home Care.

Selection of staff is based on qualifications, competency and character.

To be successful in your application you will need:

  • A passion for delivering high quality care that makes a difference to our clients and reflects their social goals, ensuring maximum returns for their package funding.
  • A Diploma or Certificate IV in Community Services (Leisure and Lifestyle)
  • Knowledge in Accreditation and Standards;
  • Knowledge of Consumer Directed Care principles & practice;
  • Demonstrated experience in a Lifestyle role;
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve;
  • Proven excellence in customer service;
  • A strong command of English;
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written;
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a close knit team;
  • Commitment to further undertake in-house education and training;
  • A polite manner and a passion for service to older members of the community
  • National Police Clearance for Aged Care;
  • Full driver's license; Class C and willing to drive 10 person seated bus as required

This is a permanent part-time position for 3 days per week initially.To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a strong customer focus, enthusiasm, flexibility, initiative and willingness to work in accordance with St Louis policies and procedures.
