In addition to being one of Australia's largest cardiology departments, we are unique in that we service both adult and paediatric patients. We currently opportunities for suitably qualified cardiac sonographers to join our busy and innovative Adult and Paediatric Echocardiography Programs in part time and full-time capacity.


About the Role and You


MonashHeart is looking for qualified cardiac sonographers to join both the Adult and Paediatric Echo-Cardiology program. Specialty training in the principles and practise of paediatric echo will be provided to successful applicants who will require a minimum of six months post-graduate experience as a fully accredited cardiac sonographer. Successful applicants may be required to work shifts per the roster at any of the MonashHeart echo clinics and to take part in on-call services.


Candidates should have:



  • previous paediatric echo experience will be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to liaise with hospital personnel, private referrers, contracted agencies, clients and family members.

  • Full accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry [ASAR] is a mandatory requirement of this position.

  • Demonstrate autonomy and a high standard of clinical reasoning skills in the performance of echocardiography procedures.

  • Evidence of participation in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program.
