About the role

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Scrub / Scout, Anaesthetic, Endoscopy, Day Surgery or Recovery Registered Nurses across multiple specialties within the Perioperative Suite. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join our Perioperative team at the newly opened Calvary Adelaide Hospital and our Calvary Adelaide Day Surgery Suite. We offer flexible working hours and also have casual positions available with family-friendly weekday, afternoon and Saturday shifts to support a healthy work-life balance. Calvary Adelaide Hospital is South Australia’s newest and largest private hospital, featuring 23 Operating Theatres and Procedural Rooms, 324 inpatient rooms, 20 ICU beds, a 24-hour emergency department and rehabilitation services.

We are seeking experienced Scrub / Scout, Anaesthetic, Endoscopy, Day Surgery or Recovery Registered Nurses with experience in any of these specialties - with the opportunity to up skill across these fields.

Specialties include Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Neurosurgery, General surgery, Ophthalmology and Oral & Maxillofacial and Endoscopy Suites.

24-hour onsite emergency department.

The successful applicant will need to work within the team and at times autonomously.

What you bring 

  • A minimum of 1 year Perioperative Experience
  • Be a Registered Nurse with current APHRA certification
  • Commitment to developing and improving the Peri-operative area through technological, resource and quality management
  • Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills relating to internal and external stakeholders, as well as building trust-based, collaborative relationships;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing issues and practices pertaining to position
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management
  • Physical assessment skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
