About the opportunity:



Bupa Australia has several roadmap initiatives each year that require dedicated Project Accounting support. This Portfolio Finance Analyst (12 month contract) will be responsible for managing and reporting on each initiative's financials and will have dual reporting lines through to Project Finance and the lead Project Manager of each initiative.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain budget worksheets for each initiative and manage tracking of actual spend and monthly re-forecasting. Will involve extensive liaison with key stakeholders for each initiative
  • Monthly reporting for each initiative, comparing actual to budget to rolling forecast. Reporting will be for all facets of the initiative, where initiatives themselves may be programs of work, with multiple streams
  • Analysis/investigation/commentary of any finance related issues - variances to forecast/budget, managing any misallocation of costs
  • Finance support activities for initiatives - providing financial guidance and disciplines to stream leads
  • Provide training to new PM's in use of Project Finance tools (peoplesoft General Ledger, hyperion system, and estimation templates)
  • Project capitalisation calculations and reporting



You will be/have:-

  • Finance/Business Degree Qualified
  • Post Graduate desired (e.g. MBA, CA, CPA) or in progress
  • Strong MS-Excel skills.
  • Peoplesoft & Hyperion System experience desired
  • Experience in a similar role within a large complex organisation (5 + years)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and commercial acumen
  • Well developed skills in business partnering and effective collaboration
  • Strong written communication skills
