A permanent full time opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced physiotherapist to join the Rapid Allied Health team in the Chronic and Care Division. The successful applicant will use their excellent vestibular and aged care physiotherapy skills to manage and deliver best care to a variety of complex client cohorts. Patients seen include acute vestibular, falls, functional decline, as well as neurological conditions. This position will be based in the Rapid Allied Health service, but may also work in our Community Based Rehabilitation team if required.


The Rapid Allied Health team provides short term intervention with the aim of ensuring discharges are safe and sustainable. In addition, they provide short term rehabilitation whilst awaiting commencement of community service.


The role may also involve supervision of rotating Grade 1 Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students. This is a full time position that is well supported both within the division and through the physiotherapy department and has ongoing professional development opportunities.

Classifications for this position will range from Physiotherapist Grade 2 VB1 - VB4



Duties



  • Deliver effective individual assessment and management of patients with a variety of vestibular, aged related conditions including falls and some neurological conditions

  • Supervise rotating Grade 1’s and/or allied health assistant

  • Supervise physiotherapy students as part of the University of Melbourne physiotherapy teaching program

  • Be proactive about identifying and addressing issues that interfere with patients receiving Best Care through the physiotherapy quality program


To be Successful in this Role you



  • You will have a broad knowledge and experience working in community setting

  • Recognised degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Flexibility, the ability to make decisions in complex situations, and excellent teamwork skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Commitment to continuing professional development

  • Demonstrated understanding of manual handling risk reduction

  • Current Victorian driver’s licence

  • Current working with children’s check

  • A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred care
