If this aligns with your values this job is for you.About the roleSouthern Cross Cares Community Wellness and Lifestyle Services is seeking an Occupational Therapy graduate passionate about health and wellness for older adults, and looking to work in a dynamic, growing program. Applicants must be willing to work in a person-centred, multi-disciplinary environment that embraces innovative practice and focuses on the reablement of our clients. Southern Cross Care’s Graduate Program has been developed to provide formal and informal mentoring and support to new graduates entering the allied health workforce. Successful applicants will undertake their own caseload of clients as well experience cross and interdisciplinary learnings, a variety of supported tasks, including a group project, that will increase and enhance their future opportunities and broaden their understanding of the aged care sector as a whole. The key roles of the position are:

  • Providing a person centred safe and effective service that provides opportunities for clients to experience and enhance their physical, mental and social wellbeing
  • Work positively and collaboratively with other staff and qualified practitioners to provide proactive person centred service and support
  • Providing home modifications and equipment prescription to enable clients to stay safe in their own home.
  • Individual and group based services
  • Participation in health literacy programs across community settings and programs
  • Work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure clients are on their best health pathway

About youYou will hold a relevant degree and be eligible for registration with AHPRA. In addition you will bring listening, communication, and time management skills, and a willingness to drive innovative practice.
