The Role:
We’re looking for a highly experienced Mental Health Nurse to work across our 31 Southern Cross Care Residential Aged Care sites, including regional Australia. In this position you’ll work in partnership with a wide range of health and non-health aged care providers to improve outcomes for residents, their families and carers through leadership, clinical advice, consultation, education and support of other professionals in the provision of evidence based complex Mental Health care. This position is being offered as a permanent full-time role.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide complex client-centred consultancy in Mental Health across Residential Aged Care & Home Care services.
- Provide onsite education and organisational wide education to ensure the skill set of staff is developed to ensure a consistent and contemporary approach to mental health and wellbeing
- comply with and contribute to Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Initiate, develop, implement and evaluate strategic changes for Mental Health Care
- contribute positively to team work to achieve operational outcomes, and promote a positive SCC workplace culture in alignment with SCC Values, Mission and Vision
- liaise and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure effective and efficient workflow
The Requirements:
- Qualified Mental Health Nurse with AHPRA registration
- Strong interpersonal skills and an empathy with older people
- Extensive experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with demonstrated networks and partnerships with multiple/key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in utilising a range of electronic clinical and non-clinical software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and provide clinical education and conduct research
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across metro and regional Australia.
