About The Role

Working as part of the Community Care team, the Program Worker (Lifestyle Assistant) is required to liaise with staff in the Social Support team and across Council. Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Program Worker is responsible for planning and organising outings and carry out regular transport arrangements, including driving, as required.

Other Responsibilities Include
  • Assist with development and implementation of individual and group activities, according to procedures
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding clients/families
  • Preparation and cleaning of all activity areas, equipment and materials used


The Roster For This Role Will Be

Week 1: Monday & Friday 0830 - 1530 & Wednesday 0830 - 1600
Week 2: Monday & Tuesday 0830 - 1530 & Friday 0830 - 1600

About You

We are looking for customer focused individuals with excellent communication skills who can relate to a variety of people in particular vulnerable community members and who can display empathy to individual customer circumstances.

Other Requirements Include
  • Certificate IV Leisure & Health, Certificate IV in Aging Support III or IV in Community Services (Aged Care) including the personal care module or equivalent certificate or working toward obtaining
  • Excellent customer service skills including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
  • Experience in program development and implementation for older people, people with dementia and other disabilities
  • Ability to work above mentioned roster


Please note the successful candidate must be willing to undergo a police records check for the purpose of employment.
