The Opportunity

We currently have a full time position for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Patient care Level 8 which treats gastrointestinal, colorectal and vascular diseases. Right candidate will be responsible for providing staff development and educational training through relevant education, teaching, learning and development programs enables the provision of quality care in the acute care setting.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Development, review and implementation of hospital policies and work instructions.
  • Supporting, preceptoring and mentoring of nursing students and new staff.
  • Maintenance of department competency matrix and Workday Mandatory Training.
  • Assist with hospital education development and implementation in line with L&D Plan.
  • Conducts and participates with regular quality audits and QI activities/projects.
  • Experience in development, implementation delivery and evaluation of education programs.
  • Acts as a resource person.

To be successful, you must possess the following:

  • Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Extensive clinical experience and previous experience in similar senior roles.
  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Demonstrated high-level computer literacy.
  • Thorough understanding of WH&S and QI principles.
  • Flexibility with shifts to meet the needs of the department.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment is desirable.

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing.
  • In accordance to guidelines set by NSW Health, all SVPHS employees are required to have up to date vaccinations before commencement. It is encouraged that you ensure your vaccinations are current ahead of time as you may be requested to provide documentation at interview stage.
  • Criminal record checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria for this role.
