Sessional Trainer & Assessor - Mental Health

Phillips Institute is a well-established, thriving independent Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in operation for over 20 years. We specialise in providing training and assessment for Health Services, Aged Care, Leisure & Health, Disability, and Education Support qualifications, and have recently added the Certificate IV in Mental Health.

We are interested in hearing from suitably qualified trainers who are passionate about their sector. We are currently seeking another sessional trainer for the Mental Health course to join our dedicated and professional team in 2021. We deliver both in-class programs from our Carnegie campus or on-site employer locations across Melbourne, and deliver blended online programs. Applicants should be ready if required to transition in-class delivery to remote delivery using Zoom or similar.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct in-person classes from Carnegie campus (2 to 4 days per month)

· Facilitate and monitor online students' learning and assessment (as required)

· Assess students and provide constructive and timely feedback

· Conduct on-site work-based assessments (1-2 days per month)

· Participate in, and contribute to assessment validations

· Maintain, modify and or develop learning resources, session plans and assessment tools as required

To be successful in this role you must have a minimum of two years recent or current experience working in a relevant mental health role and be very familiar with industry needs and current issues.

You will hold the following qualifications:

· A Certificate IV (or higher qualification) in Mental Health or related field

· TAE40110 (plus TAELLN411 and TAEASS502) or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a Diploma of VET or TDD or higher

You will need to be capable of working effectively as a member of the team or autonomously as required. You will bring your passion for the mental health sector and your creativity and professionalism to the training role.
