About the role:
Golden Plains Shire Council Active Ageing & Inclusion Services provide support services that assist people to live independently and remain at home for longer. Our mission is to enable each person we support to live the life they choose. The Active Ageing & Inclusion Services Social Support Team is responsible for assisting consumers to live as independently as possible by providing a range of innovative, purposeful and stimulating social support activities to assist consumers’ well-being and participation in community life, with a key focus on activities that build capacity and promote individual wellness and re-ablement.
This fixed term part time role will be worked 20 hours per week over 3 days until 30 June 2022
Day-to-day, you will:
Deliver innovative, purposeful and stimulating social support programs to meet the individual needs of consumers.
- Provide a holistic person-centred approach, which supports wellness & reablement, builds capacity and promotes a consumer’s active participation in goal setting, decision making and choice.
- Deliver high quality social support services underpinned by the Aged Care Quality Standards 2019.
- Respond to culturally and linguistically diverse needs with a respectful inclusive approach.
- Provide support to other Social Support Program staff and volunteers.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant qualifications or experience in emergency management at municipal level or in a project management role
We are also looking for someone who has:
- Ability to support innovation and creativity across social support programs/activities.
- Understanding the ageing process and caring for older people or people with disability.
- Confident in the use of smart devices and on-line communication platforms.
- Awareness and experience of health and safety issues in a social support group and community setting.
- Current First Aid and CPR training is essential.
- Dementia awareness skills considered advantageous.
