We have a dynamic gentleman, living with a spinal injury, who needs a Personal Support Worker each morning to help him start his day.

ParaQuad NSW is a not-for-profit organisation with almost 60 years history of being a key service provider for people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities. Our team assists those we care for to live independently in the community.

Position Description

You will provide personal care and assist clients to maintain a level of independence in their homes. This will include, but not limited to:

• Showering, dressing, grooming
• Assisted Bladder Care and Bowel Care including enema insertion
• Assistance with mobility and transfers
• Meal preparation
• Domestic assistance and household chores
• Social and community participation.

Casual hours available with varying flexible times through the day.

About You

You need to be a reliable, personable, good command of English who is looking to make a difference in our community. 

Essential Criteria

• Experience in a similar role providing personal care
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Mobile Telephone with Data capabilities
• Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends
• Proven capability to build and sustain positive working relationships, and the ability to work in a team environment or independently as required

Desirable Criteria

• Understanding of the rights and requirements of people with a disability
• Certificate III / IV in Disability or Aged Care or Assistant in Nursing
