Mercy Health O’Connell Family Centre (OFC) has an opportunity to join our team in a role where you can really make a difference.

  • 40 hours (0.5 EFT) fortnight available
  • Great team environment
  • No weekend work and a two week closure in December/January

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Maternal and Child Health Nurse or currently working towards the qualification, to join OFC. We are a positive, engaged team and would love you to join us! We are an Early Parenting Centre located in Canterbury offering day stay, residential and community-based programs.

  • Requires a demonstrated ability to work with and manage a team of Registered Nurses/Midwives, Early Childhood Workers
  • Effectively manage day to day operation of the unit in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager
  • Promote excellence in clinical practice and family centred care
  • Provide clinical services involving assessment, planning and care of admitted families
  • Liaise with OFC Psychologist and Psychiatrist
  • Rewarding role where you really see the difference you make

ABOUT YOU:

  • Nursing and Midwifery Registration with AHPRA
  • Maternal and Child Health Nurse qualification or currently working towards
  • Post graduate qualification in adult or infant mental health - desirable
  • Ability to engage with complex families with young children (0-4 years) who present with a range of parenting issues
  • Previous experience in managing staff

The residential, day and community programs provide child-focused parenting skills to promote safe child development. Services include residential, day stay, educational and group programs for families with children aged 0-4 years.
