We are currently seeking to recruit a compassionate, flexible and suitably experienced Multiskilled Carer to work at our Juniper Gerdewoonem facility, located in Kununurra. Juniper Gerdewoonem which opened in June 2018, delivers high quality residential accommodation and care services designed to provide a full continuum of care to older Western Australians. Comprising of 40 beds and skilfully purpose built for the region, Gerdewoonem aims to meet the needs of the community in a culturally appropriate manner, utilising local knowledge and the experience Juniper has acquired as a leading aged care provider for more than sixty years.

The purpose of this role will be to provide person centred care to our residents, to improve their quality of life whilst adhering to Juniper's core values, policies and procedures. You will be required to partner with residents, enabling them to fulfil their daily living, social and emotional needs.

On offer for the successful candidate will be a permanent full time position, working 75 hours per fortnight across a variety of shifts. We also have part time and casual roles available at this site.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide assistance to residents with their hygiene needs including; bathing, dental hygiene, dressing, grooming and personal care.
  • Support the maintenance or restoration of residents' independence by providing assistance to engage in activities of interest and use mobility aids where required.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation and report information to relevant Nursing, Allied Health and Management as required.
  • Maintain effective communication in the workplace, being respectful, open to change and kind in your approach.
  • Assist residents with the administration of correct medication in accordance with Juniper policies

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent / Cert III Aged Care) or relevant experience in the industry.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • An understanding of aging and dementia
  • Understanding of ACFI documentation (desirable)
  • Experience working within a person centred, enabling environment
  • Current evidence of Flu Vaccination
  • Satisfactory police check
