About the role

The Patient Accounts Team Leader is dynamic and pro-active leader. Able to resolve complex patient account issues, supervise the daily running of administration team, liaise with patients and their families regarding their accounts, implement changes, engage and collaborate with various stakeholders internally and externally. The team leader will also provide management reports and monitor invoicing, debt recovery and system updates. We require a self-motivated Team Leader for Calvary Public hospital Bruce. Knowledge of public hospital fee structure, Health fee determination, Private Health Insurance act, and Medicare Benefits Scheme are highly desirable. This role is a full time position (Monday-Friday)

Duties Include:

  • under general supervision, supervise and coordinate the day to day running of the Calvary Public Hospital Patient Accounts team.
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily running of the Patient Accounts team;
  • Set and monitor tasks and goals and provide training, guidance and support;
  • Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery, particularly with;
  • Work closely with the Health Information Services (HIS)/Non-Admitted Patient Services (NAPS)/ Corporate Administration Services teams to resolve internal business processes issues to improve efficiency;
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clinical staff and the ward, outpatient and support administrative staff.

  • Previous Hospital/Clinical Billing experience

  • Ability to learn new systems
