JOB DESCRIPTION
- An exciting Permanent full-time position, Monday – Friday work week.
- Based at our Greenwich Hospital

The role of the Level 1/ 2 Occupational Therapist is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Occupational Therapy service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Occupational Therapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient centred, evidence based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Occupational Therapy Australia.
The essence of this role:
- Provision of effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatment.
- Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client centred, continuous quality improvement work environment
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA
- Significant practical experience or Extensive Knowledge in providing Occupational Therapy Services in a Rehabilitation, Aged Care or Palliative Care setting. Experience across inpatient and outpatient/ community settings would be desirable.
- A current drivers licence and safe driving record.
- Occasional travel between HammondCare’s sites and services.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated experience in conducting home assessments and equipment prescription.
- Strong administrative and computer skills.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- An understanding of Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
