JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Perinatal Psychologist to join the O'Connell Family Centre team to support the mental health of families attending our service. The Psychologist will provide psychology assessments for referred families attending O'Connell Family Centre Residential Program & secondary consults as required.

  • Grade 3 Clinical Psychologist position based in Canterbury
  • 40 hours per fortnight
  • Liaise with O'Connell Family Centre Psychiatrist and nursing staff
  • Promote excellence in clinical practice and family centred care
  • Provide monthly clinical supervision to staff
  • Provide supervision to Psychology students on placement

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registration as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA
  • Ability to engage with complex families with young children (0-4 years) who present with a range of biopsychosocial issues
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the O'Connell Family Centre team
  • As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, assess psychological needs of families attending O'Connell Family Centre, provide brief interventions, liaise with referral sources and clients to ensure appropriate ongoing care as required

The residential, day and community programs provide child-focused parenting skills to promote safe child development. Services include residential, day stay, educational and group programs for families with children aged 0-4 years.
