About Us

Ward E is a 30 bed Acute Adult Mental Health Inpatient Ward with a highly motivated, collaborative, multidisciplinary team providing outstanding person centred care to adult clients (aged 25-64 years) who are acutely unwell due to a relapse of their mental illness or other mental health issues and cannot receive care in a less restrictive environment.

About The Role

We are excited to announce a Grade 2 Social Worker position at Ward E part time 44 hours per fortnight, based at Casey Hospital. This individual will be enthusiastic, compassionate and able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

In this SW Grade 2 position, the Social Worker will:

  • Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and interventions for individuals within service.

  • Provide direct clinical service to meet the needs of individuals, families and carers

  • Ensure all clients are reviewed on entry to the service and at milestones as outlined by the service objectives

  • Be a team player in the development of Ward E initiatives, as well as in the multidisciplinary team 

  • Build and maintain partnership with community supports and services, both government and non-government agencies

  • Maintain client safety at all times through risk minimising work practice

  • Actively participate in training program for social work students and other professional development activities

  • Comply with completion of all OH&S and other mandatory training

  • Commitment to ongoing performance enhancement plan at 3 months and annually, with 6 monthly reviews

You are an excellent communicator, driven to achieve positive outcomes for patients within the Acute Adult Mental Health ward. You're able to work collaboratively within a small team, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of person centred care to all patients. What You Need:


  • Demonstrated experience (At least two years relevant clinical social work experience preferably in a health care setting)

  • Registered with AASW or eligible for AASW membership

  • Australian working rights
