Nurse / Counsellor - North Western BreastScreen

  • We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join the expert BreastScreen team at RMH, Royal Park Campus

  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including Radiologists, Surgeons, Nurses, Radiographers and other Allied Health staff

  • Part Time opportunity, working 8.00 am to 16.30 pm, with no requirement to work out of hours

Your new team

  • North Western BreastScreen is part of Royal Melbourne Hospital and BreastScreen Victoria.

  • North Western delivers an expert clinical and non-clinical breast service with great emphasis on a multidisciplinary team approach, whereby clinical and support staff work together at the assessment centre located at the Royal Park campus.

  • The Program offers digital mammograms to women aged 40 to 75 years old who live or work in the north western region of Melbourne, with free acccess provided to the target group, women aged 50-69. 

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to person-centred care and best practice standards.

  • Provide face to face support and information to women returning to clinic for further investigation following the detection of an abnormality

  • Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy and respect for our diverse community

Your Contribution

  • Experienced in a similar role providing emotional support and information to women attending for further investigations

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting as well as independently

  • Excellent computer skills
