Bethanie, Western Australia’s leading not for profit aged care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and caring for seniors for over 65 years. Bethanie provides therapy services to our customers in residential homes and in the community.

Our residential therapy team consists of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who work collaboratively with skilled Therapy Assistants to improve the quality of life of Bethanie’s customers. The Bethanie Wellness Centres provide holistic pain management services in a group setting involving a range of therapeutic techniques. Our pain management services operate out of specially designed rooms, offering a relaxed, familiar environment for customers; and therapists are supported by a designated allied health assistant. The residential therapy team is supported by a full time Therapy Services Manager.

Reporting to our Senior Therapy Team Lead, this is a full-time position to cover parental leave for a period of 6 months and will be based at Bethanie’s Elanora aged care home, just minutes from the beach. Whilst this position is initially a fixed-term contract, there may be opportunities beyond this within the Therapy team.

  • Full time (38 hours a week)

About the role:

This is an opportunity for a qualified Physiotherapist to provide person focussed and evidence-based physiotherapy services for our residents. Key responsibilities will include
  • Complete Bethanie therapy and mobility assessments and respond to clinical referrals
  • Direct and co-ordinate therapy implementation by Therapy assistants and volunteers
  • Implement and direct individual therapeutic pain management treatment
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and information systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance and reporting activities.
About you:
  • Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of therapeutic programs
  • Commitment to person centred care
  • Demonstrated workload and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Proficient with common computer systems and software and a demonstrated ability to develop skills to work proficiently with clinical information systems and databases
