We are looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our team and work with us to continue to improve the health and wellbeing of the Maldon community.
About the position
Working closely with the Deputy Director of Nursing, the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is responsible for leading a team of professional nurses and care staff to provide the highest level of person centered care that meets the strategic needs of the hospital. The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting activities which are consistent with the values of Maldon Hospital.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience as a Manager within a clinical setting
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and consultative skills
- Passion for residential aged care
- Working knowledge of the National Standards and Aged Care Residential Accreditation Programs.
- Demonstrated active participation in quality improvement initiatives and risk management mitigation
- Post graduate qualifications would be considered highly advantageous.
- Evidence of contributing to improving quality and safety in the workplace

Maldon Hospital is located in a picturesque setting part way up Mount Tarrangower. This location gives residents sitting in the front garden of the Hospital a panoramic view of the surrounding country. Since its humble beginnings as a small wooden building in 1859, Maldon Hospital has partnered with the community delivering health services and contributing to a happy and healthy community. Today it provides residential aged care facilities, acute care, urgent care and community services.
