Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is the major provider of specialist health services in the Gippsland region, east of Melbourne. Our comprehensive range of services extends to emergency and intensive care, elective surgery, allied health, obstetrics, medical and radiation oncology at the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre, dialysis and aged care.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is currently seeking an experienced Hospital Medical Officer to join the unit from March 2021, with the option of a 6 or 12 month contract.

Our Thomson Unit welcomes approximately 900 babies a year and is staffed by a specialist team of midwives, obstetricians, mothercraft nurses, lactation consultants, division two nurses and paediatricians who work together to provide you and your baby with the highest quality of care.

Our maternity services include Antenatal Shared Care, Outreach Program, a range of pregnancy group workshops and postnatal care which extends to a Breastfeeding Support Service and home visits.

Latrobe Regional Hospital is a designated Level 5 Maternity Service and a Level 4 Newborn Service with a 6 cot Special Care Nursery.
