  • Part Time Max Term 6 month contract,
  • Wednesday and Thursday 8-4.30pm, Based at our Neringah Hospital
  • NSW affiliated organisation, all transferable entitlements are recognised

The Role

The role of the Recreational Activities Officer (RAO) is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Recreational Activities service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The RAO will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient centred, evidence based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare.

The essence of this role:

  • Provision of effective and efficient Recreational Activities service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
  • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in facilitating opportunities for patient to participate in leisure and recreational activities.
  • Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client centred, continuous quality improvement work environment

About You

  • Experience in a Recreational Activities Officer role within a healthcare, hospital or aged care setting
  • Experience working with people with a disability or illness
  • A current drivers licence and safe driving record.
  • Willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in leisure and recreation group program planning and facilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Cert IV in Leisure and Recreation
