SEEKING QUALIFIED & EXPERIENCED DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS!

We are seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals excited about supporting people with disabilities. You will be providing community access, and in-home support to NDIS funded participants to help them achieve their lifestyle goals.

You must have your own car to be considered for this role.

All successful applicants will be knowledgeable of the requirements of the industry code of conduct.

The Code of Conduct requires that disability workers, in providing supports or services to people with a disability, must:

- Act with respect for individual rights to freedom of expression, self-determination, and decision-making in accordance with applicable laws and conventions

- Respect the privacy of people with disability

- Provide supports and services in a safe and competent manner, with care and skill

- Act with integrity, honesty, and transparency

- Promptly take steps to raise and act on concerns about matters that may impact the quality and safety of supports and services provided to people with disability

- Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to all forms of violence against, and exploitation, neglect and abuse of, people with disability

- Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct.

Selection Criteria (Essential)

- Certificate III/IV in Disability Studies or Certificate IV in Ageing Support

- Previous experience in aged care and/or disability is essential (Minimum 1 year)

- Current Victorian Drivers’ License

- Current insurance on private vehicle (to be used for work purposes)

- Right to work in Australia (No restrictions)

- Current Police Check

- Demonstrated skills supporting people with complex needs

- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, problem solving, and the ability to communicate effectively as a member of a team.

- Ability and willingness to work in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to - a person’s home or place of residence, other services, community groups and other community settings

- Understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements

- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate

- Working with Children (WWC)
