Job description

The position involves supporting clients in their home and community with independent life and living skills as well as engaging in local and wider social activities. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed care workers with experience in supporting participants with complex needs and who is passionate about person centred values.

Role Type: Casual

Location: Brisbane North (Travel allowance included)

Job requires:

• Self-care including continence, PEG feeding and administering medication, bowel therapy, experience working with people who have complex mental health issues.
• Experience with positive behaviour support plans.
• General cooking skills
• use of your own vehicle for supporting clients.
• 7am to 8pm availability (Roster basis)

Requirements:

• Certificate of completion for NDIS worker orientation module (90 min Free online training)
• Willingness to adhere to The NDIS Code of Conduct Summary for workers
• Cert III/Cert IV in Aged Care/Disability with 2+ years experience
• Good physical health and fitness
• Manual Handling Certificate
• Positive attitude and passion to improving the lives of people
• Yellow Card
• Current First Aid and CPR (immediately obtain)
• Police Clearance
• Driver’s License and a comprehensive vehicle insurance.

Qualifications and Experience in any of the following would be helpful to your application.

• 2+ years experience in supporting people with disability
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support/Social Worker/Mental Health qualification
• Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance
• Currently enrolled in Allied Health Study area (Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy/Social Work/Psychology
