Westhaven is a not for profit, community-based charity organisation, who have been providing support to adults and children and young people with disability within NSW for over 60 years. We have a strong focus on quality, flexible and person centred disability services

Due to increasing services we are currently calling for expressions of interest for Permanent part – time Support workers (minimum of 20 hours) for evening shift (2 pm – 10 pm ) at various Orange locations for 2021 recruitment

Key Responsibilities

You will be providing hands on care and support our Children and Young People.
Provide personal care as required, according to the level of need.
You will support Young people to develop their personal, social and living skills.

Skills & Experience

* Cert IV or above in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, Community Service or equivalent highly regarded.
* Preferred previous experience working with adults and or children with behaviours of concern.
* Preferred previous experience supporting adults and or children and young persons, particularly in the area of autism, dual diagnosis and complex trauma and abuse.
* Competent written, verbal and computer-based communication skills.
* Completion of the ‘NDIS Worker Orientation Module” www.https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/
* An unrestricted current NSW Drivers Licence.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Physically fit with the ability to be able to perform manual handling processes.
* We require our people to be both adaptable and flexible for both our clients and their families. The hours of work can vary as we meet our clients ever evolving service requirements.
* Holding a current Working with Children Check and completing a NDIS worker check are requirements of this position.
