Registered Nurses - Residential Aged Care

$53,000 - $75,000 

The Yarram and District Health Service (YDHS) is located, 220 kilometres south east of Melbourne on the South Gippsland Highway in rural Victoria. Yarram is 73 kilometres south west of Sale and 62 kilometres south east of Traralgon.

We provide our community with Acute Inpatient services, Dialysis, Urgent Care, Aged Care, Respite Care, Primary Health, Community Services and an Integrated Health Care Centre. We are looking for a Registered Nurses to join our Residential Aged Care team. We have 2.8EFT available across multiple shifts. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent person centered care to ensure our residents can live their best lives. These positions shall report to the Nurse Unit Manager Residential Aged Care and will be mentored and supported to become experts in aged care. Opportunities to work additional shifts across the service will also be encouraged. 

To be successful in this role, you need to:

  • Hold a relevant qualification as a Registered Nurse and current AHPRA registration
  • Hold a postgraduate qualification in Gerontology or other relevant Aged Care postgraduate education (or willing to undertake)
  • Have a basic understanding of ACFI, Aged Care Quality Standards and Accreditation requirements
  • Have excellent communication skills to communicate with consumers, families and your peers
  • Be passionate about ensuring the dignity of our consumers
  • Understand clinical risk and strategies to minimise and manage risk
  • Demonstrate your commitment to providing contemporary clinical practice
  • Be committed to providing individualist and patient centered care to support our consumers to live their best lives through excellent service delivery
  • Regularly undertake continuing professional development and quality improvement activities
  • Have excellent computer skills including experience using clinical IT systems including iPM and Manad
  • Demonstrate understanding of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)

You must already hold a postgraduate qualification or be willing to undertake postgraduate study to be considered for this role. If you are looking for a sea and tree change, a relocation package and initial accommodation support may be available for the right candidate.
