The Role:

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Casual Maintenance Officer to join our team. In this role, you will support multiple sites of our locations, as below:

  • Cootamundra and Young

What you will do:

This role is responsible for carrying out general maintenance, repairs, gardening and other tasks falling within the scope of maintenance. This position requires a good understanding of general Building Services (Plumbing, Electrical, Air Conditioning, etc) and troubleshooting / problem-solving. This includes:

  • Routine Grounds Maintenance and upkeep of gardens
  • Carry out general building repairs &, basic electrical (e.g. Lighting), basic plumbing (e.g. tap, washers, blockages), equipment & appliances, gates, fences, carpet & flooring, doors & windows, basic painting, etc.;
  • Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine the necessity of repairs or maintenance;
  • Maintain documentation, service records and certification for compliance
  • Coordinate contractors and service providers as required; and
  • Constantly be aware of the condition of the property and immediately initiate action to correct unsafe conditions.

About you:

  • Cert III in a trade (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Current driver's license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of people
  • Ability to work independently and under minimum supervision
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a residential care setting
  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional and appropriate relationship with residents and/or families/representatives
  • Intermediate computer skill to maintain electronic reporting/documentation
