Position Summary:

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist – Level 1/2 with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

The successful applicant(s) will be expected to undertake the following role: The Level 1/2 Occupational Therapist providing services to a caseload within a specialty area. The specialty areas at St. Joseph’s Hospital serviced by the Occupational Therapy Department include: Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, Aged Care Psychiatry and the Huntington’s Disease Service.

Selection Criteria

  • Current AHPRA registration and relevant degree in Occupational Therapy; and current, unrestricted NSW Driver’s license or equivalent
  • Experience in the provision of occupational therapy services in relevant clinical specialty (Rehabilitation, Palliative, Aged Care Psychiatry or Huntington’s Disease )
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in functional assessment and retraining
  • Extensive experience in equipment prescription and home modifications
  • Experience in discharge planning and/or planning separation from service
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
