Position Title: Quality and Safety Associate

Job Type: Part-time

Region: Bundaberg, Queensland

Facility: Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg

Closing Date: 22 February 2021

Salary: Currently attracting a part-time salary range of $46,000 to $51,000 (inclusive of

superannuation). The appropriate salary range is commensurate with prior

experience.

About the Role: The Quality and Safety Associate is responsible for activities as delegated relating to

Quality and Clinical Safety Management, and accreditation, across the hospital/service, which are

essential to the licensing, service level agreements, and contracts.

  • The Quality and Safety Associate role is located at the Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton;
  • The is a part-time role (38 hours per fortnight);
  • Candidates must have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline;
  • A clinical background with at least 5 years front line experience is highly desirable;
  • Experience in health care accreditation and regulatory requirements would be highly regarded;
  • Intermediate or advanced skills using the Microsoft Office suite are desirable;
  • Candidates must also have:
o Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery with appropriate

clinical knowledge, experience and skills (essential);

o Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives and their practical

application in the achievement of customer service/ delivery needs;

o Developed analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills;

o Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieved identified

outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

o Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety;

o Demonstrated communication, consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills including

report writing and presentation skills; and

o Ability to effectively lead and implement change in a complex environment.

Role Purpose

This position reports directly to the Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager of the related

health service and is responsible for activities as delegated relating to Quality and Clinical Safety

Management, and accreditation, across the hospital/service, which are essential to the licensing,

service level agreements and contracts.

  • Work collaboratively with other clinicians to facilitate process improvement strategies that support
patient safety and the achievement of quality and safety goals;

Qualifications and Experience

Essential qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline

reports on data / information used for projects, evaluation and process improvement activities; and
