Position Description: Vocera is looking for high energy, motivated and driven professionals to join our Sales Development Team. The Sales Development team is the first point of contact for our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for generating and qualifying leads, working with the team to execute on marketing programs and lead generation activities with the goal of setting a qualified meeting for the field sales teams nationally and internationally. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Sales Development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-bound and out-bound campaign calling activities to business prospects in an assigned territory
  • Prospect and identify key decision-makers at target companies and start building the foundation for a strong relationship
  • Contact, qualify, and manage marketing leads from demand generation activities
  • Rate leads per established criteria and pass off as appropriate to assigned Area Sales Manager
  • Research and build new and existing accounts (i.e. adding contacts, sending regular emails and qualifying opportunities into the Account Executive pipeline)
  • Achieve or exceed monthly quotas of qualified opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales reps to maximize prospect potential, working closely with Account Executives to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities for new sales opportunities
  • Cold call target companies to uncover projects, create awareness and need for our Vocera solutions
  • Work with the team to analyze customer needs, understand obstacles, identify opportunities Support of partner programs and events

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience fast paced sales development environment
  • Proven success in high-volume outbound sales environment preferably within a software or hardware company
  • Has consistently met or exceeded personal/team goals and quota
  • Ability to achieve call volume goals (80+ calls per day)
  • Proficiency with standard corporate productivity tools (MS-Office suite, email, phone skills)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience crafting effective business messages
  • Experience with salesforce.com and other on-line sales productivity tools
  • No travel required
