St Charbel’s Care Centre is a new and progressive organisation, dedicated to servicing the ageing population. Established in 2019, SCCC is passionate about delivering exceptional service to its consumers and providing care that is above and beyond. SCCC is an integral part of the Maronite Community within Western Sydney and SCCC aims to allow consumers to retain their active role within the Maronite Community.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Diversional Therapist, to join our team. Reporting to our Clinical Care Manager, our Diversional Therapist empowers and engages our residents to make choices and decisions which maximise their participation in Leisure & Lifestyle programs that suit their individual needs and wants.

You will facilitate this through:

• Participation in the development, implementation, and assessment of Therapeutic Plans
• Supporting residents to engage in their Leisure and Lifestyle choices and activities
• Supporting staff and volunteers in the provision of Leisure and Lifestyle programs

You will have

• relevant qualifications i.e. Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle, Diversional Therapy

• a current First Aid Certificate

• a minimum of 3 years of experience in Aged Care or supporting residents with leisure & lifestyle programs

• experience developing, implementing, and evaluating assessments and care plans for leisure and lifestyle activities - including for high care residents

• a currently national criminal history check

• valid working rights in Australia

• strong skills in people management and interpersonal relationships

• excellent communication and computer skills

• a strong understanding of the Aged Care Acts, Legislation and Accreditation Standards

• an understanding & knowledge of Dementia

• ability to speak Arabic is highly regarded
